Deedee's Story
Life
I got married to the love of my life in 1989. We met while working at the Hyatt Regency D/FW Hotel. He was a bellman and I was a concierge. He is now a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Irving Fire Department. Considering both of our careers, we always have interesting stories to tell each other. We will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary in February 2009. We have two beautiful children, a son and a daughter. Their photos are posted in the Photo Albums section of my profile.
College
I have always known that I wanted to be involved with law enforcement. I graduated with a degree in Public Administration and a minor in Psychology.
Workplace
After graduating from college, I was hired to be a Crime Analyst for the Hurst Police Department. Five years later, I accepted a job with the United States District Court in the Federal Probation Office. My most memorable work moment occured several years ago at a Red Lobster restaurant. We got a tip from a confidential info...Expand for more
rmant that one of the waiters was bragging about being involved in five separate cosino robberies in Las Vegas. The informant stated he had seen him on America's Most Wanted the week before. We reviewed the footage that the cosinos caught on video tape. It was my job to pose as a patron and make a positive ID of the suspect. The suspect had not worn a disguise when the robberies occured so we were optimistic. I asked to sit in his section so I could look at him more closely. I knew immediately that he was the robber. We spoke with the America's Most Wanted liaison and they immediately flew here to videotape the arrest. We waited until the suspect entered the kitchen so as to not endanger innocent bystanders. Before he knew what was happening, he was handcuffed and placed in a squad car. It was all captured on tape and it was aired three days later on AMW. He told us that the reason he robbed the casinos was to maintain his $2,000 cocaine habit. That was very cool!
